Support the Santa Barbara Vintners Foundation by participating in the Wine Lees Challenge! 

Here’s what to do:  Take a bucket of lees (the sludgy, thick leftovers from wine fermentation) and pour them over the head of a winemaker, vineyard owner, cellar worker, or willing wine colleague. Or, create your very own Lees Angel by pouring some on the cellar floor, lying back, and sweeping your arms and legs just as you would in fresh snow. They’re cold, they’re slimy, and a very messy “by-product” of harvest 2025. Then be sure to video it, tag @Santabarbaravintnersfoundation, and nominate 2 others.

You can make your $250 donation or “entry fee” to the Santa Barbara Vintners Foundation using the donation form on this page.

If you are nominated but would rather not do it, don’t worry!  You can pay $300 to opt-out!  All donations will support the Vintners Foundation’s Santa Barbara Wine Community Crisis Fund.
